Black protest

After many years of break Monika is working on her first linocut collection, inspired by the violation of women's rights in Poland. Since 2016, "black protests" have been organized as a consequence of changes in the act on abortion law in Poland. Since then, the situation has continued to escalate, gathering thousands of people (not only women) on the streets of Polish (and not only) cities. The symbols of the fight for freedom of choice are: red lightning, a hanger (an international symbol of the fight for the right to legal abortion) and black umbrellas, which gave the name to the black protests.
