Carved and Drawn

In this collection, I intertwined my knowledge of printmaking with my continued interest in botanical drawing. I was able to gain access to a special Strathmore archival paper created in a local paper mill. I have also adapted this technique to handmade papers I make in my studio. Once an area of the image is carved, I define and enhance it with colored pencils, powders graphite and paint to deepen and enrich the image. Each image tells a story that is written about in the individual descriptions.
