Chernobyl

I make images of buildings, cityscapes, landscapes and ruins, using photo-transfer techniques and mixed media . I visited Pripyat (Chernobyl’s “ghost city”) and saw ruined buildings reborn into something different from the overwhelming force of nature taking over brick and plaster. My Photographer friend Keith Waterworth wrote "Trees sprout haphazardly in the middle of classrooms, moss carpets the stands of the football stadium, ivy creeps along the aisles of the supermarkets. Every object in the city appears to be overlaid with a greenish patina, nature stealthily reclaiming the place as its own.”
