Abstract

Most of this abstract work uses various medias, such as burlap, silk fabric and paper to create the relief. These mediums are selected by the artist for their inherent functions, being considered as fragile as they can also be strong. Krystina Stamatopoulos finds that dual characteristic interesting, since it evokes how perceptions can define something or even someone. The artist is interested in human behaviours and always seeks to question it's most paradoxical and complex behaviours through her art. The shapes and lines of her abstract work are inspired by landscape textures and patterns, in order to refer to the relation of humans with our environment and surroundings.
