Botanical Series

The botanical series on one side shows the overwhelming beauty and saccharine sweetness of flowers. The epitome of vanity and excess. Of perfection and delicacy. But on the other side, like memento mori from the 1500's it reminds us that life is temporary and fleeting. The flowers, like memories, are empty shells of experiences past. At their peak for a brief moment and then dried and preserved for eternity but always a reminder of what once was.
