Common Thread Prayers

This series of paintings originated from a larger canvas. Sumi ink was hand ground in an expression of lament and prayer for the war in Ukraine. The pieces were machine stitched as a representation of collective lament, prayers, sacrifice and love from around the world. It was then cropped to make smaller compositions. Each canvas holds lament and hope for healing and stitched reminders that we don’t hold these things alone.
