Desert Nudes: RED Between the Lines

A collection of B&W photos of a nude model in the desert, with a looming RED sky. I remember seeing Helmut Newton’s photos for the first time at a gallery in New York City. I was blown away by the simplicity and elegance of the images he created. Why add red? Red has a range of symbolic meanings in many different cultures, including life, health, vigor, war, courage, anger, love, and religious fervor. The common thread is that all these require passion. The passion for creating, telling stories, and inspiring others along the way excites me the most.
