Inspired by Queen Elizabeth I of England, this piece was composed alongside Jimmy Cortés from the Met Opera in New York in 2016.
Like a musical composition, the piece was rehearsed more than a dozen times before being performed in front of a live audience. The course of the painting process was set beforehand, accompanying a musical soundtrack, and with loaded brushes laid out and ready with pre-mixed paints.
The performance cycle took place in Harlem, New York, the same week as the 2016 US Elections.
