From the dark sea

‘From the dark sea’ is an exploration of what might lurk in the deep - sometimes natural, elegant and beautiful; at other times dark, brutal, unnerving. My sculptures are drawn from memory, imagination and visual reference, using elements of ocean plant and animal biology and anatomy, to create forms that play with reality. The viewer is encouraged to look and form their own narratives about the beautifully strange life-forms. All of my pieces are hand-built from coils or pinching, using stoneware and earthenware clays, slips and glazes and fired multiple times to achieve different textures and colours.
