Jari-Jari Gelas (Glass Fingers) series
People have seen everything from the “eternal water of life” to the “grip of the Roman Catholic church upon Catholicism” in these pieces. For me, the glass represents for time & those “fleeting moments” which can escape us all. No interpretation, however, is any more valid than the next, as a work of art begin to succeed the moment it gets the viewer thinking, on any level. (Bronze is cast from life while glass is punty-cast directly from the furnace, using as little surface-manipulation as possible.)
