LE TROISIEME MOIS

"The third month" is a series started in March 2022. The basis of inspiration is repeated visits to a psychiatric unit that Patrick Gourgouillat was able to make over a month. He observed both the patients and the care staff. Then, the series evolves. It becomes a proposal of a phantasmagorical world, sometimes funny, sometimes disturbing. The artist expresses his feelings about his growing uncertainties. Who are we? What do we pretend to be? Who is reflected in our mirrors? The series takes three distinct pictorial forms: drawing, digital art and canvas-collage. Finally, "The Third Month" remains a poly-coloured kaleidoscope, an experimental journey into the soul of the fool and the wise.
