Letter press, linoleum prints

This series of letterpress prints is a vital part of "Forbidden Pages," an immersive art initiative addressing book banning in Florida's public schools. Inspired by over 2500 banned or challenged children's books—such as "The Bluest Eyes," "Before She was Harriet," "Festival of Colors," and "Neither"—these prints call attention to these stories and authors. Letterpress printing, an artisanal technique, involves hand-setting type and using vintage printing presses. Each print is a unique work of art due to variations in ink distribution and impression depth inherent in the process. It demands exceptional skill and attention to detail, from typeface selection to press adjustments for every print. I print in Miami at Extra Virgin Press.
