Materic Abstract Paintings

The works in this collection start from the material of bitumen, spread on the wooden support with decisive movements which constitutes the first layer on which I work. The raw material is thus investigated for "its" expressive properties and then made to interact with the white glaze and the color, for successive superimpositions, which clarify, strengthen or even deny the original draft. Starting from this "emotional" genesis, which obeys an intimate expressive desire, the proceeding is more meditated, the result of a progressive rationalization of the shapes and colors until their definitive arrangement in a coherent and "satisfying" composition felt by the expressive impulses original, in search of a balance, perfect for me.
