Our Lady of the Roses

I called this series, “Our Lady of the Roses,” a title that I invented to represent the essence of a divine healing realm. It is rooted in traditional Mexican stories, that tell of the fragrance of roses remaining behind, following a female saint’s presence. Attempting to visually capture the presence of a fragrance, I painted these canvases filled with large, bold, red roses forming a flowing river of life.
