OxBow Sunset Series

A series of works inspired by a painting done in the smmerer of 2014 while spending two weeks painting at OxBow, in Saugatuck, Michigan. The painting excercise lead me to paint a sunset as the sun set, and darkness began, with only a headlamp to see the canvas and color. The images of the decaying pier, harken back to the ceramic work of Voulkos, an early influence and mentor while attending UC Berkeley. That painting continues to inspire iterations in many mediums.
