1st World Allegory

This series explores modern social themes through allegory. The black elements in each painting are rendered in less detail but with more contrast, drawing the viewer into the ideas presented. These paintings also represent a watershed in my personal technique. This series marks my full use of the Venetian Technique for painting skin tones. Each figure is brought to life through the use of multiple glazed layers of oil paint imparting a glow that is impossible to achieve by any other means.
