Heaven's Landfill

This series of paintings explore the issue of migration crisis. The UN Refugee Agency found that 65.6 million people were forcibly displaced worldwide at the end of 2016, many of them were from war torn and poverty stricken regions of the world. Civilians including children and women caught up in the crisis, suffering physical and psychological trauma. The artist wanted to express his deepest respect and condolence by depicting the abandoned life jackets, boats and other debris as the symbol of migrants whose lives were lost in the sea while desperately trying to reach the safe haven.
