Hector

Hector is a member of the Burr Oak Art Cooperative based in Austin, Minnesota. Hector uses color, literature, music, text (titles are integral) and texture to explore emotion and meaning. However, the story is left to the viewer to finish and complete. “I paint like I imagine a novelist writes. Several drafts, studies, and even when I finally get to the canvas the process can take a long period of time. You can see the process in the painting and so the viewer becomes a co-creator,” says Hector. “The ultimate goal is to create something that continues to inspire new ideas and new stories even after several viewings. To inspire is everything.”
