Hoysala Sculptures
I have always been interested in Karnataka's history, culture, heritage and architectural style of the empires that ruled the state for centuries. These are a series of watercolor paintings on sculptures and ruins of Hoysala Dynasty which ruled between 1026 - 1343. The Hoysala empire was a prominent Kannadiga empire, their capital was located at Belur but was later shifted to Halebidu. The style of their architecture involved delicate, decorative and intricate carving of massive shrines, idols and carvings on walls which depicts Hindu mythology and epics
