Secrets Of The Lagoon

Inspired by night-time Winter wanderings but the use of black was not a conscious decision, at least not to begin with. Perhaps black reflects Venice's decaying beauty: a melancholic Grande Dame, with secrets hidden in the ambiguity of the mask. Or perhaps it is simply the artist's preference for shadows over spotlights, finding a strange comfort in the dark. ​
