Abstract painting is so much about brush strokes. Vincent van Gogh was a genius at using directional brushwork. His paintings almost jump off the canvas at you. He was changing the thickness, length and direction of his strokes. But painting has an underlying rhythm much the same as a song. In the cycle The movement, which this painting started whole cycle, I feel the movement of Jazz Drum Brushes, those Retractable Drum Sticks used for softer, less intrusive sound allowing to create completely different texture than drum sticks. However each painting has a different dynamic, balance of sound. Creates a peculiar melody.
