Wall of Memories / Visiting

Produced all throughout 2009, "Wall of Memories" was an ambitious project by Mitchell Van Duzer, encompassing a series of autobiographical paintings, with each painting representing a specific period of time in the artist's life. As reflected by the project's name, these paintings were created by collaging together jumbled elements of memories from each corresponding period of time, resulting in a singular visual distillation of the artist's interpretation of that time and place. The subseries "Visiting" was produced in tandem with the larger series, and specifically focused on three different travel excursions taken by the artist during his college years, each having progressively more profound implications for his life afterward.
