a study in Portrait

I’ve long had a fascination with the portraiture and figurative as part of my artistic process. In turn I have sketched over a 1000 pencil, ink and charcoal drawings over the past 40 years. Many of these sketches were executed as quick stokes, trying to capture the fleeting moments of those seated in the cafés in/and around Toronto and Montreal where I would frequent. With the advent of digital and mobile technology, this fascination with figurative and portraiture never wanned and has continued to this day to be part of my work and process. JF Naccarato, 2017
