Beheadings

"Beheadings" The four photographic series called "Beheadings" read the head as an absence. The head is denied and severed from the body, but exactly for this reason it is strongly and ideally present. In contrast, the artist depicts the body with all its heaviness and all its evocative power. In the works, indeed, there is a highly symbolic use of the female body. This is seen as a symbol of the women's role in the contemporary world in which the physicality is often abused and commodified. The absence of the head, therefore, emphasizes the woman seen exclusively as an object and not as a creature endowed with thought. Alessandra Marzuoli, Art historian - Artribune
