Cut Photo Series

The cut photo series is an exploration in perspective and the formation of ideas through the photographic medium. In the past, media scholars such as Susan Langer (and subsequently Neil Postman) called photography an “objective” medium, denoting only a singular “here-and-now.” While this may be true of an “unfaked” photograph, in the 21st century the term “photography” has stretched to include edited, faked, and manipulated imagery. One photograph (or a few) contains huge potential in terms of meaning making through digital manipulation.
