Masks

The series „Masks“ was made during the first COVID-19 lockdown. The dystopian times we are living in inspired us to explore communication between people. Masks have always played a role in society in many different ritual ceremonies all over the globe. In the figurative sense the word „mask“ has the additional meaning of the „ persona“ we have/are in society: we are children, mothers, fathers, friends, colleagues, lovers and much more. The masks in our pictures have no changing mimicry but the pictures show how clothing, body language and posture influence how we see the characters. We can see in the pictures how communication is always an interaction of several aspects of a person. We cannot hide as we cannot not communicate.
