Shutters and Doors of Provence

If you’ve spent any time in southern France, you’ve probably noticed the window coverings that resemble what we call shutters. They aren’t just decorative, they’re called volets. In most cases, each morning, the volets are opened and each evening they are shut. It’s normal and lets the world know you’re ready to face the day. I find these windows and doorways extremely colorful and graphic and just can’t seem to get enough. I hope you agree.
