Silly Putty Series
I have always been fascinated with Silly Putty and the way it picked
up pictures from comic books. The ability to stretch the putty and
distort the image from its original state made it an art form
all its own.
For this series, I chose comic book characters and cartoons that
were popular in the 1960’s. I also used advertisements that
reflected pop culture.
I used a single light source without any diffusion to photograph
the series. It was important for me to capture the texture of the putty
as well as the impression of my finger prints that can be
seen in some of the photos.
This is an ongoing series.
