Spirits of the Old Adobes
Abandoned adobes (mud brick construction) dot the landscape of the Desert Southwest. Eventually they erode away: "ashes to ashes, dust to dust, and adobe to mud..." In a project documenting some of these adobes, I began to wonder about former inhabitants. Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is observed in many parts of this area. I used images from Day of the Dead to create an imaginative view of departed inhabitants.
