Transformation
I am visiting the Berlin Sculpture Park, where the historical buffer between East and West used to be. The wall is hidden from view – its presence is a line on the map, a ghost in my mind – it creates a conflict between my identity and the strong heritage that imposes itself on me.
The Sculpture Park is a small exposed area, trapped between tall houses. I try to escape from the German foreign heritage and history. I use helium balloons to rise over the park. My camera is connected to the balloons and it records every minute of the buffer zone. High in the sky, I wish to fly over, to allow an objective point of view. Contrary to my intention, controlled by the wind, the camera reproduces duplications of my internal spin.
