Playa: a dialogue with the Landscape
This work unfolds as a series of photographs documenting temporary constructions, interventions and actions created during my two month stay in Eastern Oregon's high desert. Attempts to measure and understand the landscape gave way to a weariness with the ceaseless horizon and a longing for my home. The visual ambiguity of the images mirrors the emotional tension of a place so vast, empty, and overwhelming that I simultaneously wanted to stay there forever and escape it.
