Pomegranate Blossom

Pomegranate fruit in bloom is a very powerful symbol. This is the image of fertility and procreation, the Sun, movement, consistent patterns of natural rhythms. It has for me direct associations with personalities who are so significant for my creative works, Sergei Paradjanov who is a film director and an artist (let us remember his legendary film ‘The Pomegranate Colour’) and poet Sayat Nova. The Bloom of Pomegranate is many-faced and infinite: lake, carmine, red cadmium, purple, pink, sometimes even ocher with crimson blotch and sometimes bright scarlet with an orange hue… This is the colour of blood, the colour of life, the colour of ruby. The colour of Love.
