Hip Hop

Coming from the graffiti world, Tarek knew and lived the beginnings of the Hip Hop movement in France. From Smurf to graffiti, he has been a witness and an actor in this underground culture. At only 20 years old, he released the book "Paris Tonkar", the first work dedicated to this environment in Europe. He exhibited his first paintings in 1992 during the "Paris Graffiti" exhibition. The Hip Hop series is a way to return in painting and drawing to the years of his youth in the Parisian suburbs where this culture was practiced by children in cellars and places on the fringes of society.
