Treasures

Series of found leaves and rubbish drawn and then printed with silkscreen. I am interested in found objects, discarded pieces of rubbish, sad and rotting leaves. I feel empathy towards these unwanted, forsaken items. I am treating these squashed bits of rubbish and leaves with the same introspection as did some of the Romantic artists with nature. They focused their gaze upon the item they were depicting and thus exalted the object’s status. In this way I hope to show my sympathy towards these objects.
