Identity

In this body of work, I examine the pressures, choices and challenges facing women as “stewards of life”. While some works may have a certain humor about them, they also carry an underlying weight because of their nearness to reality. If a person can be altered or created in a lab, what then does identity mean? How much is our sense of self determined by others, whether in a lab or in somebody else’s head? Does one need a womb to create a person? More importantly, how do we as women maintain a respect for “soul” Much of the work is an exploration of individual identity. Human life is created and then altered in lab conditions. Or is life conceived in a lab? Soul and bio ethics and how we come into this world. I am examining
