Stripping
For several years, Jean-Jacques Pigeon has been drawing his inspiration and his patterns within the plant world : fragile twigs, boughs, branches... He lies within the more distant heritage of the Byzantine, Era Angelico, the Nabis, Bonnard, Vuillard... Bur undoubtedly he incorporates in his work somme personal reasons. No trace of romanticism in this painting, or declension of concepts. This is neither set in the warmth of lyrical or expressionist movements, nor in the coldness abstraction. Rather a kind of vital serenity, without visible intellectual tension.
