Taking A Thought For A Walk Series.

These are an ongoing series of drawings I do when I need to get back to the stripped-down, basics. I don’t plan them, or use models, or photographs. They’re not figurative and they’re not abstract. But then is anything really, or is most abstract art simply random and unplanned? Georgia O'Keeffe said, “I found I could say things with colour and shapes that I couldn't say any other way — things I had no words for.” The work speaks for itself, so I won’t interrupt. As Andy Warhol said, “Don't think about making art, just get it done. Let everyone else decide if it's good or bad, whether they love it or hate it. While they are deciding, make even more art.”
