THE CABINET OF CURIOSITIES

The collection THE CABINET OF CURIOSITIES refers to the first scientific and art collections - wunderkammer - set up during Renaissance and Baroque by European princes, rulers and scholars preserving rare phenomena of nature, precious artworks, objects from strange worlds and inexplicable items. It was the period when science was still holistic, and a scientist was more an alchemist with universal curiosity towards multiple disciplines: medicine, biology, astrology, gemology, physics and mathematics. The artist reanimates the wunderkammer tradition and creates the cabinet of phantasmagorical specimens, curiosities and mirabilia that could have been developed if the evolution would take another path.
