THE LIFE SERIES

These days we're inundated with a profusion of visual and text imagery. What I wanted to explore in this Series was my representation of all this messaging. How? By creating new works on paper that symbolize my reaction to all these discrete intrusions. I wanted to explore textural surface subtleties using bits and pieces of text that I culled from popular culture magazines. I was also interested in the interaction of printed color bits against areas that I painted. The collage, the painting, the color interfaces and especially the bits and pieces of text represent metaphors of my experiences as I journeyed through life.
