TRACKS

'Tracks' is a six-part album study of glimpsed architecture. It is a study of the time passing and the time, which we pass on train journeys. I am particularly interested in a sense of movement and the relationship between that which does and does not alter. My work is not a cognitive analysis or a reflection on landscapes, but more a contemplation of a moment, the recording of an ephemeral memory in drawings. They are subject to the mood, the light, the sounds and acts that make the meaning of 'place' so distinct. The fact that we are trapped, both on the train and in a directional time, makes the glimpsed places thus unreachable and so, become even more poignant in that they only exist as a memory.
