Collage, acrylic paint, pen & masking tape on six vinyl stickers. Sold unframed.

I've got a bit of a thing for stickers. I make them, I collect them. I think there's something about that tantalising potential before you peel them. Sometimes I stick them up out in the streets but sometimes I'll make a series like these that I feel work well as a spoof collection.

My process has become more complex over the years but it was born out of wanting to create something layered with more depth than just a single character drawing. That wasn’t enough for me in itself. Just like a vain attempt to whitewash graffiti from a wall, I tried painting a thin, white layer over my drawing then adding another offset character over the top. It created something far more dynamic and unpredictable.

I like my work to be affected by my surroundings, by what is available to me at a given time.

I am a mixed-media artist based in London. My collages explore the boundaries between the man-made and nature, reanimating found materials, shapes and colours, often the by-products of design. New arrangements are constructed by assimilating inherited material and processing with a mechanical mindset. I believe these serendipitous compositions could hold some inherent value which might offer us a fleeting glimpse of our connection with the world.
