Alien entomology by Scarlet Isherwood, My inspiration came mainly from looking at things like movies and horror monsters that were often based on insects such as Predator, I also asked people I knew were scared of insects and their response often was because they look "weird" or "Alien " so that really sparked something to see if I could create a whole other creature out of these things that people seemed so scared of. All insects used to make the aliens are 100% real and ethically sourced I raise many of the insects I use in my work myself to ensure the insects live the best possible life, and ones I don't raise I purchased from conservation centers and places that are as cruelty free as possible as well as vintage specimens that date as far back as pre-world war times. All works are mounted onto black glossy Perspex encased in an acrylic finished case which does not open.

Scarlet Isherwood is a young Fine Artist who grew up in rural Kent, as a small child Isherwood often visited life drawing and life modeling classes. Later on in life Isherwood became a young carer for disabled siblings, using art as a creative out, she self taught many of her own techniques for many years before going to Canterbury college to study fine art, knowing it was the only thing for her. After leaving college Isherwood was approached by the Zebra one gallery to create a piece to bring awareness to the mental health condition Body Dysmorphia, A project that brought media attention to Isherwood's work from the BBC and London live. After this Isherwood has shown a collective of works all over London, Brighton and Sussex showcasing independent collections as well as volunteering at a local charity providing art projects and Art lessons to young carers and underprivileged children in need.
