About The Artwork

The absence of what once existed and the presence of changes, of transfigurations. In this image there is a story to be told: the lost beauty of a female figure of dark skin, the result of an amalgamation of different bodies. Her race, her exotic, semi degraded appearance, the squinty eyes, the overlapping teeth, the disproportional breasts, point out to the demands on such a woman to constantly "perfect" herself. This work "represents" a sacrificed Goddess, chained in the same manner as Andromeda, de incarcerated Greek mythological figure, who suffered for the sake of her beauty. In this case of this work, the heroin didn't get to be "saved".
