"Azul" presents a bold composition of intersecting forms and contrasting hues, evoking the rhythm of cityscapes seen through a modernist lens. Contact us.Vita Banko is a contemporary abstract artist working across painting, collage, and mixed media. She graduated from the Vilnius Academy of Arts and in 2011 founded TypeandStuff, a platform that marked the beginning of her independent, research-driven artistic practice. She currently lives and works between Vilnius, Berlin, and Madrid.
Her practice explores abstraction through the interaction of color, form, texture, and material. Working primarily on canvas and wood, she develops layered compositions that combine intuitive gestures with carefully structured spatial relationships. By integrating painting, collage, and experimental mixed-media processes, she creates surfaces that reveal traces of construction, revision, and transformation.
Rather than representing external subjects, her works investigate how visual elements interact to generate rhythm, tension, and balance. Influenced by both contemporary painting and the principles of graphic composition, her practice moves between precision and spontaneity, allowing each work to evolve through a process of continuous experimentation.
Her work is represented in private collections across Europe and internationally.
