ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Candle light is healing us, it also the light of hope. I am creating this series from the last year of 20 century. This series is popular in my one man show. Creating this work, I keep “black as a color “ in my mind. The way of making this series is ー draw the out line by black ink on thin Japanese paper. After that it will be transfer to a film. At the same time the another process is that collage paper which I have colored myself with paint in advance, and overlay it on Arches paper. Finally those parts will be set together. The film is smaller than the base paper because of its layering and framing. The original art work in a frame shows a fantastic and floating feeling. The finished original work is only this size for maintaining its delicacy. If you need a larger size, please choose print which is shown on another page. And now, I'm working on a larger version of this series that will be digitally printed and then painted. Therefore, please note that each of the price the original mixed media work on the main page has been changed to the same price as the domestic one. The signature of original work is on back side of the art work or right bottom side on the face. The frames can be selected natural or black and allow more 3-4 days for starting shipping because of its preparation. If you need not a frame, tell us about it before your purchase. Thank you.

I'm not thinking about becoming a minimalist, I'm thinking about how to tell a story in a limited elements. I often inspired by the things around us, nature and music. In creating of forms, the nature told me a lot of things. And in color, I am particular about black and white as colors, and another colors are appearing, too. I think each human life is not easy, so if viewers can be played in a different world, then I am happy. For me, creation is a place to live. Kyo-Yuzen is one of the traditional and artistic Japanese dyeing methods. I was born and raised in the Kyo-yuzen family in Kyoto, Japan. Also my relatives were nearby, and many of them worked for Kyo-yuzen. I thought that "human beings draw pictures" in my child hood. There are many traditional and modern museums near my home and visited there well. Also I love children's picture books, Western animations and dramas on TV, and Manga, too. So many cultural feelings penetrated me, and I would like to fuse them to create artworks naturally. My career is started as a textile designer for Paris and NY haute couture in the textile design company and next entered a German textile designer's studio as the same occupation. After that as a freelance, I set up own studio in Aoyama, Tokyo, created many illustrations and artworks. Creating artworks and held many solo and selected group exhibitions in inland and overseas since then.
