ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This piece is part of the "Chéris Blossom"serie. "Chéri" means "beloved" or "dear" in french, my mother tongue. The title "Chéris Blossom" is a way to express the rebirth, the eternal cycle of life. People in these portraits are unknown, forgotten.Art gives them another life, another spring. This piece is a collage of about 50 faces cut off old vintage photographs. Above the collage, there´s an handmade embroidery on bubble wrap (a metaphor of fragility and protection). The piece is presented in an old wood embroidery hoop.
