This work has 2 layers of meaning. 1. Is all about my sitter, Beatrice, her incredible character calmly engulfed in layers of Italian text. In stark juxtaposition I have my 2nd layer of meaning. 2. I started this collage while learning about the Charlottesville attack/Neo-Nazi “rally“ aftermath, all of which heavily influenced this work. This work has a lot of overlapping symbolism and hidden imagery.
