About The Artwork
This was at the time of war and both my husband and my eldest son were soldiers . Of course I was worrying and thinking all the time of falling soldiers . I sat in my studio and began to lay down some paint till suddenly I saw what I was doing .I had painted a soldier falling ! I decided to finish the painting and added some special paper to give it more structure . The result was an allegory of an human falling from above and on the 'earth' the cypresses which are usual at our cemeteries .Luckily both came back well !And the painting stayed as a memory .
