About The Artwork
The picture is inspired by the poems of genius Russian poet Joseph Brodsky, and his emigration from the Soviet Union to the USA, New York. Romantic mood and nostalgia were very close to my feelings at that time. In his poetry, Brodsky spoke with muses and gods, historical characters and rulers of thoughts, and reading his texts was a way to speak and understand his art. For creating the collage, I used cards, which symbolized the Fortuna, and the colors of cards mean metaphor of the Universe of the great poet, full of unrequited love, loss of motherland, and melancholy. In the picture, I share my thoughts and feelings about the great poet, kissing him through time and space and wishing to the past his destiny could be happier.
