MIKHAIL BULGAKOV (WORK FROM THE CYCLE "BURDEN") Collage

Acrylic, texture paste, silver potal, butterfly, epoxy resin. Mikhail Bulgakov is an outstanding personality, on a global scale. His novel "The Master and Margarita" is recognized in the West as one of the best novels of the XX century. In 2021, Bulgakov turned 130 years old. His father was a theologian and church historian, and his mother taught French. Bulgakov chose for himself a serious profession of a doctor. During the First World War and the Civil War, the future writer worked in hospitals. In the early 1920s, Mikhail moved to Moscow and became a journalist. In the same years, Bulgakov's recognizable style was formed: a bow tie, a monocle and a three-piece suit. Bulgakov, was in strained relations with the new government. His works caused strong fears, so his plays were almost constantly banned. In 1937, Bulgakov was on the phone with Stalin. It is known that Stalin watched his play "The Days of the Turbins" 15 or 20 times (!!!). Bulgakov wrote a novel for a long time, which was started back in 1929. The original version (according to the writer's own definition, "a novel about the devil") it was destroyed by him in 1930. In 1934, the first full version of the text was created, which received the title Master and Margarita in 1937. At this time, Bulgakov was already terminally ill, he dictated some chapters of the novel to his wife, Elena. The work on the novel was completed in February 1940, a month before the writer's death. The novel was published only in 1966. The writer died at the age of 49. Grave grave of Bulgakov is buried at the Novodevichy Cemetery, on his grave, a tombstone from the grave of N. V. Gogol, which will later be called "Golgotha", is installed. In my work, I "sewed" the writer's jacket from drafts of the novel "The Master and Margarita" and posters of his theatrical productions.
